The center provides you with a full range of diagnostic services to obtain accurate information and make correct therapeutic decisions:
- Spirometry: This non-invasive assessment measures the amount and speed of exhaled air. It helps diagnose conditions such as asthma and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
- CT with contrast and without contrast: Computed tomography (CT) provides detailed images of the lungs and airways. With or without contrast, this test can reveal problems such as infections, tumors, or pulmonary emboli.
- X-ray: An X-ray of the lungs can detect conditions such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, or fluid around the lungs.
- Determination of FeNO in Exhaled Air: This method helps to assess inflammation in the lungs and to monitor the response to treatment in asthma.
When should we see a pulmonologist?
If you experience any of the following, it’s time to see a pulmonologist:
- Persistent cough or difficulty breathing.
- Chest pain or tightness in the chest.
- Bloody sputum or changes in sputum.
- Suspicion or previous diagnosis of respiratory conditions such as asthma, bronchitis or pneumonia.
- Sleep disorders such as sleep apnea.
- Experiencing excessive fatigue during daily activities.
- Exposure to risk factors such as smoking or prolonged exposure to toxic substances.
